What a year it has been! Will weddings be on or will they be off? That was the question that we all awaited the answer to. And finally in July they were back on, just in time for one of my weddings scheduled for that month.
To be honest, all the weddings I have done this year have been a little last minute. As all brides and grooms waited until the last possible minute before confirming dates and numbers with all their suppliers. And if I am completely truthful, there has been some fun in this last minute rush.
For me, it has been such a joy working with brides who have the same style and taste as me when it comes to floral design. Each of the brides I have worked with so far have loved their flowers and we have been able to incorporate everything from favourite flowers (sunflowers), colours (blue) to a garden style theme.
In 2021 we were fortunate enough to do weddings at Battle Abbey and St Mary’s Church, a glam wedding at Leeford Place Hotel and a fun wedding in a garden.
Each wedding is unique and I have the pleasure of spending time exploring with the bride (and sometimes the groom) all the different options. It begins with a consultation form, where the each couple tells me a little about the wedding, where it is going to be held, the date, their style any favourite colours or flowers. What then follows is a little flower mood board, where I put together a look based on the responses on your form. We then have a series (as many as is needed) of meetings held at the studio (or zoom!) and calls where we work on the final look, we will consider everything from ribbon to vases. On occasion, a sample of the flowers is sourced to help the couple visualise the look better. It is only then that the look is finalised and then the countdown begins to the big day.
On the day of the wedding, me and my team will deliver flowers to the bride, groom and decorate the venue. Of course the work for us starts several days before the wedding as the flowers will have been collected (or picked), conditioned and prepped. And the day before, bouquets will be made up along with many of the decorations for the wedding.
We hope this gives you an insight into the part we play in your wedding and look forward to working with you on your big day.

Brides Bouquet – Favourite flower – Sunflower
Sunflowers are large and can be difficult to incorporate in a bouquet, but here we softened them with ammi, solidago, astilbe, roses and eryngium along with lovely foliage.

Garden Wedding – September 2021
Apple crates at the entrance of the Marquee and milk churns adorning the entrance of the bar area. The garden was so beautiful so our designs were just to emphasise what was already a gorgeous venue.
