I was excited for this late summer wedding and the initial enquiry from Nishali which outlined her colour palette. My first meeting with Nishali and Andrew was at the venue Pilgrims Rest, where I got to meet their beautiful dog Jasper. The couple had a clear idea of the colour palette they were going to work with and I couldn’t be more delighted.

The colour palette was all of those late summer early autumn colours that you would want to see. Dark pinks, reds, orange, copper and the flowers were to be an explosion of Dahlias.
Nishali and I spoke on numerous occasions on the phone sharing ideas on the wedding florals, from the different styles of table decoration which would work on the long narrow tables, and something that would not take up too much space as they were having some grazing boards followed by platters of paella. It was important that we had impact with the florals but also that there was space in the small dining room for guests and all the cutlery and glasses.
We eventually settled on tall displays in the dining room with flowers scattered through the rest of the venue. We used our troughs to do displays for the narrow window ledges in the venue and in the bar. To follow the theme through to the ceremony, we opted for small urns to sit on the alter at the church. Nishali and Andrew had their ceremony at the delightful and very petite church Our Lady Immaculate.
The brides bouquet was a bountiful of dahlias in hot colours which complimented the bridesmaids dresses. Gorgeous silk ribbon in a coral complimented the overall bouquet.

The bridesmaids had bright bouquets and the groom and groomsmen had a mix of small dahlia buttonholes.

All in all this was the most beautiful colourful late summer wedding which I simply adored styling.
